Goat Girl

We find ourselves in Madrid in 1988. At that moment, Elena has to face the recent loss of her grandmother, all while preparing for a big step: making her First Communion. In parallel, her friendship with Serezade develops, a girl who is always accompanied by her goat. This bond and her personal situation make Elena reconsider many things, including the fact that she is not sure the world is as it has been described to her so far.

Within a very specific context, that of late 80s Spain, this film shows us the emotional evolution of a girl, Elena. Through this journey, universal and fundamental themes are addressed, with great transcendental value. Among them, we find friendship, the perception of the world as known by the young protagonist, and the power to reconnect with what truly matters, which is family, friends... Grief and loss are the starting point for the reflections of young Elena.

Ana Asensio directs this feature film. The actress and screenwriter became a director in 2017 with 'Most Beautiful Island'. Now she reaffirms her role as a filmmaker with this drama in which we see, among others, Javier Pereira ('Stockholm'), Enrique Villén ('Ninette'), and Zaira Romero ('Carmen y Lola').
