Gloria!

'Gloria!' is set in late 18th century Venice. During this time, Teresa, a young girl with a keen ear and a free musical perception who has been raised in the Sant'Ignazio orphanage, which is also a conservatory, discovers a fortepiano that will revolutionize her life and that of the institute in general. Along with a group of talented musicians, she begins to challenge the norms of the Italian Ancien Régime through music. To do this, she creates rebellious and modern works that almost allow them to travel through time and explore creativity in its purest form, far from the imposed standards of the era.

This film narrates an inspiring struggle for artistic freedom and musical innovation. It is a fictional story set in a real context that tells us the possible story of many ambitious women in the world of music in a totalitarian context where censorship reigned.

Margherita Vicario directs this film, marking her debut as a director. She has not only worked in this capacity on the project, but she is also the author of the soundtrack. She is a young Italian actress, author, composer, performer, and now also director, who has several of her own albums published, as well as performances and acting work with renowned directors such as Woody Allen.
