Carolina is a normal, young and candid girl. One day she meets a certain Leo through an online chat. Leo is older than her, however, more than Carolina thinks. Behind the profile of a man is posing as a sixteen-year-old teenager. When I read, he gets Carolina's confidence and he meets her in a little-crowded park on the outskirts of the city. However, Leo begins to suspect that Carolina may not be as innocent as she appeared to be.

'La desconocido' is a feature film by Pablo Maqueda, a young and promising Spanish director and producer. Maqueda has produced more than twenty-five feature films, its strongest breakthrough was in 2020 with its documentary 'Dear Wener' together with Wener Herzog, the German director. Among all the awards and mentions that were won for this title, the Feroz Award and the Círculo de Escritores Cinematográficos award for Best Documentary and the Best Spanish Film at the Sant Jordi awards stand out.

With this new film, 'La desconocida', Pablo Maqueda brings to the big screen an adaptation of the play by Paco Bezarra, National Theater Award winner in 2007 and National Dramatic Literature Award in 2009. Produced by Fórmula Cine A.I.E. and Sideral in collaboration with La fragua audiovisual.
