Trivia
A third installment had been stalled in development for nearly 15 years, until director Paul Feig pitched a reboot instead.
Emma Stone rejected the offer to star in the film because, although she liked the script, did not want to commit to another franchise so soon after finishing with 'The Amazing Spider-Man' saga.
When the creator of the characters, leading star and screenwriter of the first installment Dan Aykroyd, thought of doing a third installment in the 90s, the film revolved around the Ghostbusters being in Hell.
