Plot
On the eve of the start of World War II, the famous father of psychoanalysis Sigmund Freud, already in the twilight of his life, invites the iconic author C.S. Lewis to his house to have a debate about the existence of God. Two of the greatest minds of the 20th century thus converge to unleash a dialectical and intellectual battle in which the great questions of existence are addressed while on a personal level they collide on issues such as love, sex or the meaning of life itself.
Inevitably they also end up talking about the nature of relationships with other people, exploring Freud's unique relationship with his lesbian daughter Anna and Lewis's unconventional romance with the mother of his best friend. Past, present and fantasy intertwine with the lives of Freud and Lewis in a dynamic journey that surpasses the confines of Freud's study.
'Freud's Last Session' IT IS based on the play of the same name by Mark St. Germain AND Directed by Matthew Brown. The film offers an intriguing exploration of the ideas between two intellectual giants of the 20th century through the interpretations of Anthony Hopkins ('The Silence of the Lambs'), and Matthew Goode ('Deciphering the Enigma'). It promises to be an intellectually stimulating experience, immersing audiences in the deep dialogue between these two iconic thinkers.
