Mason Petit (John Cena) has been in the United States Army for years, he's a special forces soldier. After his last mission, he decided to retire from military life to settle down at once and start a family.

Once he has achieved that goal, he realizes that what is known as the "American dream" is extremely boring and he is tired of taking children to school, barbecuing in the garden with friends, Paying the mortgage... in general he's tired of the routine and monotonous ta life.

That is why he decides to return to action when he is presented with the opportunity to accept a security operation. A journalist (Alison Brie) must travel to interview a dictator (Juan Pablo Raba), from whom one can expect anything but a welcome. Mason's mission, protecting the reporter and ensuring everything goes as planned.

Pierre Morel ('District 13') directs 'Freelance', an action comedy starring WWE actor and wrestler John Cena ('Fast & Furious X') along with Alison Brie ('The LEGO movie') and Juan Pablo Raba ('Narcos'). About a screenplay by Thierry Abogast ('Nikita') stars Alice Eve, Christian Slater, Marton Csokas, Molly McCann, Sebastian Eslava, Roberto Cano, Daniel Toro and Julianne Arrieta. The film is produced by Steve Richards, Renee Tab and Christopher Tuffin.
