Plot
Directed by acclaimed Russian filmmaker Alexander Sokurov ( 'Father and Son' 'The Russian Ark') and the film was presented at the Venice Film Festival. France during the Nazi occupation during World War II, the German authorities decide to protect the artistic heritage of one of the most important museums in the world: The Louvre. However, that conclusion was not easy. 'Francofonia' tells the story of two people with extraordinary vision. The director of the Louvre, Jacques Jaujard and the officer of the German occupation, Count Franziskus Wolff-Metternich, will no longer be enemies to become partners after creating a fundamental alliance to save the treasures of the museum as well as the largest and most valuable collection of paintings and portraits in the world. It is 1940 and the city of Paris is still occupied. However, Wolff-Metternich Jaujard and make every effort to maintain pocoa humanity that left a war that destroyed everything that was in its path.
