Plot
Cambodia, 1975. Maoist regime of the Khmer Rouge took away the lives of approximately a quarter of the cambodian population through starvation and torture. Loung Ung was one of the survivors who witnessed and suffered it, and now she is back to tell her story. This documentary directed by Angelina Jolie talks about how Loung Ung lived the war when she was a little girl. The true events that this movie refers to acquire a whole new meaning in a deeper level when told through the eyes of a girl who is trying to understand her new reality: the Cambodian genocide. Her expiriences during the war are reflected with the sensitivity of two great activists, Loung Ung herself and Angelina Jolie, who prolongues her trajectory as a director with this new title.
