Fatum

Sergio (Luis Tosar) has gambling problems. After swearing to his wife that he would not fall again, he receives a tip about an alleged fixing of a soccer match and decides to return to the betting house hiding from his wife to try to recover all the money he has lost due to his addiction. When the tip turns out to be true and his luck is about to change, a young man named Alejo (Arón Piper), with a past also tarnished by gambling, bursts into the premises armed. On the other hand, Pablo (Álex García), a GEO sniper, is pressured by Commissioner Costa (Elena Anaya) to serve in the robbery. But the GEO's head is in the hospital, where his son's life hangs by a thread. Fate causes Sergio and Pablo to find themselves involved in a robbery at a betting house, where a shot will change their lives forever.

'Fatum' is the first fiction feature film by Juan Galiñanes, with a script written by himself and Alberto Marini ('La Unidad', 'El desconocido'). The main cast is completed by Luisa Mayol ('Alegría', 'Quien a hierro mata') and Pepa Gracia ('La Unidad', 'Feria: La luz más oscura'). The film is produced by Vaca Films in co-production with Playtime and with the participation of RTVE, Amazon, TVG and the support of ICAA and Agadic. Theatrical release April 28, 2023 in Spain from Universal Pictures.
