Matt (Kevin Hart, 'Ride Along', 'Central Intelligence') is ecstatic to find out that he and his wife are expecting a child, but what should have been the happiest moment of his life turns into one of the most heartbreaking when his wife passes away, leaving Matt a widow and a single dad to an infant daughter. Unsure of how to take on parenthood on his own, Matt is terrified of putting a foot wrong with the small life that is now his to look after.

'Fatherhood' is adapted from the novel 'Two Kisses for Maddy' by Matthew Logelin. Sony Pictures has currently announced that the film will be released in January 2021.

'Fatherhood' is directed by Paul Weitz ('Mozart in the Jungle', 'Grandma', 'Admission') and is adapted for the screen by Weitz alongside Dana Stevens ('Safe Haven', 'City of Angels'). Joining Hart in the cast are Lil Rel Howery ('Get Out', 'South Side', 'Good Boys'), Melody Hurd ('Battle at Big Rock', 'Trick', 'Them: Covenant'), Anthony Carrigan ('Barry', 'Gotham', 'The Flash'), Alfre Woodard ('Stark Trek: First Contact', '12 Years a Slave', 'The Lion King'), Deborah Ayorinde ('Luke Cage', 'True Detective', 'Harriet'), Paul Reiser ('Mad About You', 'Whiplash', 'Stranger Things') and DeWanda Wise ('Someone Great', 'Nola Darling', 'The Twilight Zone').
