The Van Gogh Museum opens its doors in exclusive and shows a new vision of the five public versions of the Sunflowers by the Dutch painter, one of his most emblematic themes.
The documentary explores the mysteries surrounding this paintings: When did the sunflower arrive in Europe and how was it painted by other artists? Why did Van Gogh choose it? What was he trying to say and why did he make different versions? We discover what scientists brought to light when they analyzed the work in detail. A journey from Amsterdam to Tokio, Philadelphia, London and Munich following the five works with a lot of detail. Each painting is different and has its own history, and they are in a state so delicate they'll probably never be exhibited together again.
