Plot
20th feature film directed by prolific French filmmaker François Ozon. Premiered in Official Selection ath 74th edition of Cannes International Film Festival and within Pearls section at 69th edition of the San Sebastián International Film Festival.
Inspired by real events, Ozon adapts the autobiographical book 'Tout s'est bien passé', by the writer, novelist, screenwriter and essayist Emmanuèle Bernheim, friend and regular collaborator of Ozon, who co-wrote several screenplays for the filmmaker's films such as 'Under the Sand', 'Swimming Pool', '5x2' and 'Ricky', It's also the first collaboration of the actress Sophie Marceau with Ozon.
Emmanuèle (Marceau) is a famous novelist with a full private and professional life. Her peace of mind will be disrupted when her father, André (André Dussollier), a renowned businessman and art collector, suffers a stroke. The woman goes with her sister Pascale (Géraldine Pailhas) to the hospital, where she discovers that her father is weakened and will have a very dependent life on her. Being a curious man by nature, André asks Emmanuèle for a favor: to help him end his life.
