The film puts us in the Ruhr Valley, in Germany in the early 1970s. Hans-Peter is a nine-year-old boy who has grown up surrounded by his family, who loves to have fun. He is not the boy with more friends from school but he does know how to make everyone laugh, something he will show and practice every day in the store his grandmother has in the neighborhood. However, this happines will be far behind since his mother falls into a depression after an operation so he will have to take care of his grandmothers. Is in that moment when he will star using his sense of humor to relieve the pain and make the rest of the people laugh. This is a biopic based on the life of the German comedian Hape Herkeling.
