Endless Night

During the 20th century post-war period in Spain , the protagonist of 'Endless Night', Anxo, have to return to his hometown in Galicia. There he will meet a wide range of people who have been affected in one way or another by the Spanish Civil War, regardless of which side the fought from. Neighbours, republican prisoners, widows and even people who have lived in the Galician town for their whole lives are all united in the prospect of staring down a life that will never be the same again. Anxo must cross into the Francoist zone to deliver a letter, a journey that unleashes his repressed and hidden past traumas once more.

'Long Night' is the new film from writer-director Eloy Enciso ('Arraianos'), who has chosen a cast of amateur actors for this latest project and forming this cast of gifted newcomers are Celsa Araujo, Misha Bies Golas, Suso Meilan, Manuel Pumares, Verónica Quintana and Nuria Lestegás. The film, shot with the Galician language forming the script, will hit cinemas on the 5th December this year, and will premiere at the Locarno Festival in Switzerland in August. Enciso took inspiration for his script directly from memoirs of political prisoners following the Spanish Civil War. The film is a production of Filmika Galaica.
