El último verano

This documentary shows how in a lot of Spanish villages the inhabitants still go to the traditional summer cinema with 35mm film. This cinema is organized outdoors in the playgrounds of the houses and in parks. A group of people are responsible for the treatment of the films made in the traditional format who is being replaced by digital films.

'El último verano' is the first movie of the Basque filmmaker Leire Apellaniz, who is the responsible of the Technical Department of the San Sebastián Film Festival. After being showed in international festivals such as the Uruguay Film Festival, Bafici or Karlovy Vary, this movie will be presented in Spain in the 61st edition of SEMINCI festival in Valladolid.
