Plot
Throughout this documentary, we will accompany Juan in his goal of rebuilding the Chapter House of Sigena's monastery, which was destroyed in a fire. His interest in the restoration of this monument comes from his childhood, when he listened to the stories of his grandmother, who brought bread and eggs to the nuns when she was a little girl. She told him that she was amazed to see the gold ceilings and the paintings inside. Juan promised her that one day he would bring the monastery back to what it was. The evolution of the work is proving to be quite a challenge, as there are hardly any signs of what it was like before, apart from some old photographs, the remains of some paintings and an old watercolour. He will need a whole team ready to help him, made up of people who will play a fundamental role in the reconstruction.
The director is Jesús Garcés Lambert, responsible for other documentaries such as 'Io, Leonardo' and 'Caravaggio, l'anima e il sangue', was proclaimed one of the 30 most creative Mexican directors of 2018 by Forbes magazine. He has made documentaries for such important production companies as Sky TV, National Geopgraphic, Al Jazeera, CBS, Mediaset, History Channel, TVE, CBC, ZDF and RAI, the Italian public channel.
