El silencio del pantano

The story of 'El silencio del pantano' starts with the discovery of a dead body in the Turia river where an old Roman ritual reserved for the prisoners accused of parricide has been recreated. When they start the investigation of who can be responsible for it, it points out to different important businessmen and bussineswomen of Valencia. That brings up a big swamp full of corruption and decay that has been out of sight for so long from the knowledge of society. This story would be seen from the point of view of Q, a journalist turned into a black novel writer. The crimes he has written in his different books, all of them set in Valencia (Spain), are much more real than he could ever imagine.

The movie is based on the namesake novel of Juanjo Braulio and it is the first movie for Marc Vigil ('The Ministry of Time'), who directs it. It is produced by Iñaki Juaristi ('Élite') and starred by Pedro Alonso ('Money Heist', 'La embajada'), Àlex Monner ('Unauthorized Living', 'El silencio de la ciudad blanca'), Nacho Fresneda ('The Lord of the Skies', 'The Ministry of Time'), José Ángel Egido ('Todo por el juego', 'Matadero'), Raúl Prieto ('Velvet Colección', 'La sala') and Carmina Barrios ('Carmina or Blow Up', 'Down There'), among others.
