Plot

'El Lute: Run for Your Life' is a spanish film of 1987 written and directed by spanish director Vicente Aranda. The film, set in 1960, tells the story of a nomadic family that runs Extremadura homebuilders. They lead a hard life, cause that the mother dies. The son, Eleuterio Sanchez Rodriguez, "El Lute" (Imanol Arias), steals some chickens and sentenced to six months in jail. Five years later, he returns to commit a crime. This time the assault on a jewelry Madrid, where die the guard. "The lute" is tried and sentenced to the death penalty, but the penalty is commuted to life imprisonment and was just leaking during transport. The film is starring Imanol Arias on the role of Eleuterio Sanchez, "The Lute", a criminal and a fugitive from the sixties. It is also starring Victoria Abril. Both won the Silver Shell for Best Actor and Best Actress for her performances. The film had a sequel the following year entitled 'El Lute II: tomorrow I will be free'. Between the two films they won nine nominations for the Goya Awards, without getting any reward.
