The Wailing

Andrea (Ester Expósito) is a student from Madrid who lives her life normally. However, following a sudden event, she begins to see silhouettes of a non-existent person. Something is chasing her, but even she does not know what it is, as the figure vanishes when she tries to catch it.

As the days go by, she meets Marie (Mathilde Ollivier), a woman who went through the same thing twenty years ago in Argentina, ten thousand kilometers from Andrea's home. Some time later the two of them will meet Camila (Malena Villa), another victim of this strange presence, who refuses to leave them alone.

Although no one believes them, the three discover that they are being stalked by the same spirit when they realize that they hear the same sound: a crying. Who is this figure and why is it stalking the three women? What patterns repeat between them?

'The Wailing' is a horror film directed by Pedro Martín-Calero, a filmmaker who makes his debut with this film. 'The Wailing' is a Spanish, French and Argentine production. Part of the story has been filmed in this last place, Argentina. Ester Expósito has already gone through the horror. The well-known actress already worked in the genre with Álex de la Iglesia in 'Venus'.
