'El crack cero' is a prequel to 'El crack' and 'El crack II', which will be the end of the trilogy that started with the release of the first movie in 1981, 38 years ago.

Unexpected return

José Luis Garci promised in 2012 that he wouldn't direct or write scripts anymore. However, he decided after some time to come back to the cinema with this 'El crack cero' to finish his trilogy. He did this inspired by Maite Imaz, Alfredo Landa Areta's widow, the protagonist of 'El crack' and close friend to Garci.
