Ego

Paloma (María Pedraza) is a teenager from Madrid who is preparing for her university entrance exams while she is isolated due to the pandemic caused by the coronavirus. She is a bit lonely and introverted and lives alone with her mother. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she decides to create an account on a same-sex dating site. At first, everything seems to go well and she starts meeting new people but, to her surprise, there she discovers that there is a person of the same age who is using a photo of her, but with a different name. Together with her best friend Jorge (Pol Monen), she tries to get to the bottom of the matter and reveal the identity of the person who is impersonating her. However, this becomes much more complicated, as she will have to get in touch with this mysterious girl and the search for answers will reopen issues that she thought were behind her. Worst of all is when she realises that the real struggle is against herself.

It has been directed by Alfonso Cortés-Cavanillas ('Sordo') and, in addition to Pedraza and Monen, it also features Marian Álvarez and Alicia Borrachero, who had already worked together in the series 'Hospital Central'. It was produced by La Caña Brothers and distributed by Begin Again Films.
