Plot
'Edward Scissorhands' is a fantasy romantic movie directed by Tim Burton based on a personal story of him. Considered as one of his most personal projects, it starrs Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder.
The film tells the story of Edward (Depp), an artificial humanoid that, unfinished by its creator, has blades and scissors instead of hands. Because of his condition, he lives secluded in the gothic mansion of his creator in the suburbs of a big city. Until one day Peg Boggs, a local Avon saleswoman, knocks on his door and discovers such a particular creature.
Seeing Edward's apparent noble heart, Peg decides to take him home, where he falls in love of her daughter Kim (Ryder). Soon Edwards becomes the main attraction in the neighborhood, cutting the bushes of the homes and even the hair of some of its residents.
But Jim, Kim's boyfriend, is getting jealous of Edward and tricks him so he ends up arrested. Later, Jim confronts Edwards blaming him of hurting his girlfriend, making Edward furious, leaving for his mansion. There, Jim and Edward confront each other one last time with the presence of Kim.
The movie was a great success, both with the critic and in the box office, where it grossed five times more of its budget, making it a nineties cult movie.
