Plot
The comedy 'Eddie the Eagle' tells the particular story of Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards (Taron Egerton), a skier who made every effort to achieve his dream, a goal that he never managed to reach. Although he was one of the best jumpers in his country of origin (something not very difficult because of the lack of competition), was last in almost all tests in which he competed in the Olympic Winter Games 1988, held in Calgary. Its unique physical and vision problems made him a star in the UK and earned him the nickname "Mr. Magoo". 'Eddie the Eagle' focuses on shaping the character of Edwards from a perspective that celebrates the human spirit and the resilience shown by the star in the face of an almost impossible challenge. Along with Egerton, actor known for his role in the film 'Kingsman: Secret Service', we find Hugh Jackman as an expert skier who helps Eddie in his training for the Olympics. Dexter Fletcher directs this film written by Simon Kelton and Sean Macaulay.
