Echo of the Mountain

Nicolás Echevarría directs this biographic documentary about Santos de la Torre named 'Echo of the Mountain'. Santos de la Torre was a Huichol artist whose life and talent has been forgotten. This documentary follows his pilgrimage to Wirikuta, where he asked the gods for permission to paint a mural that represented Huichol people's culture and History. That mural is now in Paris representing Mexico, and was chosen personally by president Ernesto Zedillo. Santos never got paid for his work, which is now in danger.
