Adaptation of the story 'Drive My Car', which is in the book 'Men without Women', by renowned Japanese author Haruki Murakami. Yûsuke Kafuku (Hidetoshi Nishijima), is a renowned stage actor who is married to Oto (Reika Kirishima), an important television screenwriter. After not making a trip to South Korea due to a weather problem, Kafuku returns home to discover that his wife is cheating on him with one of the actors in the series he works on. However, the couple cannot talk about infidelity, since Oto dies after suffering a brain haemorrhage
Two years later, Kafuku is offered to direct a two-month residency for a theater program in Hiroshima, where he will direct an international and multilingual version of Anton Chekhov's 'Uncle Vanya'. Because he has glaucoma in one eye, the company requires that he travel by car with a driver. Kafuku thus meets Misaki Watari (Tôko Miura), a hieratic and reserved young woman with whom, little by little, he will establish a friendship through confessions with which he will confront her own ghosts.
Directed and written by Ry?suke Hamaguchi. 'Drive My Car' stars Hidetoshi Nishijima, Tôko Miura, Masaki Okada, Reika Kirishima, Park Yoo-rim, Satoko Abe, Jin Dae-yeon and Sonia Yuan.
