Plot
Second feature film of 'Downton Abbey', the series about the Crawleys, a family of English aristocrats in the early 20th century. The story picks up where the previous film, released in 2019, left off. This time, the protagonists will travel to the south of France, where they will uncover the mystery surrounding a villa recently inherited by Countess Violet Crawley (Maggie Smith).
The original series premiered in 2010 and ran for six seasons. In it, the wealthy family lives together with their servants in their large country house in the UK. It won 15 Emmy awards. In the case of the eponymous 2019 version, the Crawleys received a very special visit from the British family. Three years later, these members of high society return to the big screen in a setting that is totally unfamiliar to them. Moreover, many of the main characters will be reprising their roles. This is the case of Hugh Bonneville as Robert Crawley, Jim Carter as Charles Carson, Allen Leech as Tom Branson and Elizabeth McGovern as Cora Crawley. The script has been written by Julian Fellowes, who wrote and directed the previous six seasons. Simon Curtis ('Goodbye, Christopher Robin', 'My Week with Marilyn', 'Woman In Gold', 'The Art of Racing In The Rain') is in charge of production.
