Plot
This documentary is a portrait of a wild land known for being the largest ecological reserve in all of Europe. Here, in this place, the migratory routes of more than three hundred species of birds intersect, moving back and forth with the rhythm of the seasons. This is the story of a forest, one that grows around a marsh that formed at a point between the Atlantic Ocean and the banks of the Guadalquivir River.
In this space, the coexistence of different types of animals stands out, including some of the most threatened wild species on the planet. In this space, life is full of great contrasts. In Doñana, moments of abundance are followed by long periods of scarcity. A place where water is important, essential, a place where water is sacred.
'Doñana' is a documentary directed by Spanish filmmaker Carmen Rodríguez. After a filming period of 31 months, this feature film shows us one of the most special places in the geography of our country. Biologist, author, and communicator Odile Rodríguez de la Fuente lends her voice for the narrations that accompany the images in this Spanish production by Wanda Natura.
