Domingo Domingo

Domingo is a farmer who lives in a small orange-growing village. Although thirty years ago everyone could live as a farmer, today it is an impossible due to large companies, which always put landowners in problems: either they work with them if they have a product that meets their needs, or they are pushed out of the market because of their competitive prices.

Domingo constantly dreams of being able to pay his mortgage or buy a new car alongside his workers, who help him collecting oranges. However, things are not that easy, as they have to work hard to earn very little. Even so, Domingo remains so optimistic that he even starts learning a new language to attend a merchants' conference in Berlin, where he goes to make new business deals. Will he be able to make any new treat with a new commerce? Will he achieve to survive this hard situation? The film will answer those and many more questions.

'Domingo Domingo' is an hour-long documentary directed by filmmaker Laura Garcia Andreu, who also co-writes it with Arunas Matelis. The project has been funded by the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts in collaboration with the Institut Valencià de Cultura. The title is nominated for the Goya Award in the Best Documentary category.
