Divertimento

Zahia Ziouani is a 17-year-old girl who dreams of becoming a great orchestra conductor and together with her twin sister, Fettouma, who is a professional cellist, both express their love for music through the orchestra. The two young women, who have been in love with classical music since childhood, share the desire to make it accessible to everyone, everywhere.

But this film poses a major problem: how to realize such an ambitious dream in the middle of 1995, when one is a woman of Algerian origin living in Seine-Saint-Denis? Well, the twins will face their harsh reality with courage, confidence, determination and above all, backed by the spectacular project of creating their own orchestra, which they called Divertimento.

This film, based on real events and of French origin, was directed by Marie-Castille Mention-Schaar and its screenplay was written by Mention-Schaar herself with the help of Clara Bourreau. The cast includes actors such as Oulaya Amamra, Lina El Arabi, Niels Arestrup, Zinedine Soualem, Nadia Kaci and Laurent Cirade, among others.

Divertimento' is produced by Easy Tiger, Estello Films, France 2 Cinéma, Canal+, Ciné+, France Télévisions and a number of other production partners.

In Spain, 'Divertimento' will be released on October 27th by Vercine.
