Plot
Shown out of competition at the 66th San Sebastian Film Festival, the director Telmo Esnal narrates a traditional portrayal of Basque society through traditional dance. The storm was strong after an exhausting day working in the field. When the rain stops, life begins to sprout on the arid land. The fruit of the land grows and matures, being able to survive harsh weather conditions and becoming the apple that will be used to make cider. Autumn arrives, the season to celebrate the arrival of harvests, to toast and to celebrate for the delicacies given by Mother Earth, to celebrate the birth of love. With traditional dances, the film shows the cycles of life and death, of the inhospitable struggle to survive in an environment marked by the evolution of nature. With music and dance, the documentary about tradition and customs to a universal message. With the movements of the dancers a dedicated song to the earth is created.

Claiming the region

Passion for dance
Telmo Esnal, the director of 'Dantza', during his youth participated in the Ballet Festival of Havana. This caused that, when he became a filmmaker, he wanted to make a film about dance and folklore.
