Plot
Known as "the bad boy of ballet", Sergei is a young prodigy dancer. At the age of thirteen years old, he got a scholarship tho study along with the British Royal Ballet School, while at the age of twenty he became the youngest member of the Royal Ballet. However, Sergei's life turns upside down when after two years, when his career is at its highest moment, certain events drove him to quit and threat with giving up ballet for ever.
IFC documentary 'Dancer' directed by Steven Cantor tells the story of Sergei Polulin, a talented Ukrainian ballet dancer who in the most important moment of his career began questioning his existence and commitment with ballet at the same time he became a world-wide legend.

Sergei did not want to watch the documentary because he doesn't like watching himself dance and was tricked into seeing it by his good friend who filmed him in "Take me to church".
'Take me to Church'
The Take Me to Church video was supposed to be Sergei Polunin's last dance and then he was going to go to acting school in Los Angeles. After shooting the video, he changed his mind and continued with dancing.
