Plot
Carlota Nelson's documentary 'Cristina García Rodero: La mirada oculta' tells the story of the Spanish photographer: "Pioneer in portraying how life, love, beauty and death are celebrated in the world".
Cristina García Rodero is an independent photographer, autodidact and very acclaimed by the critic because she was the first person who captured religious and pagan parties from her country, which took her nothing more and nothing less than fifteen years.
The 74 year old artist keeps documenting how life, love and death are celebrated now days. This documentary takes us inside the creative process of Cristina, offering the spectator a privileged sight of the unique artist's mind and work. In fifty years of career, this is the first time that she has given permission to make a documentary about her.
She was the winner of the National Photography Award and, at the moment, she keeps putting her life at risk in celebrations around the world while she claims the "slow burned work done with liberty".
A José María Morales production (Wanda Films) in coproduction with RTVE and Castilla La Mancha Media. Nelson, the director of this film, is also known for 'Anclados', a documentary about the real life of five sailors who restarted their lives in a dock in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria after the Soviet Union disappearance.
