In the past, Takakura was an important detective. Now he is retired and he works as a professor at the university, where he teaches criminal psychology. Some day, Nogami, Takakura's ex-colleague, asks him some help with a case of a family that completely disappeared six years ago. Only Saki, the young daughter of the family, managed to survive. Takakura will try to resolve the case exploring the girl's memory. At the same time, the protagonist and her wife have moved next to Nishino's family, whose wife is seriously ill. Some day, Nishino's daughter confesses Takakura he's not her father and she doesn't know him.
