Plot
The Frankenstein complex is a term coined by Isaac Asimov that defines fear to mechanic men. French directors Gilles Penso and Alexandre Poncet present this homonymous documentary where they explore the monsters construction in the cinema world. Werewolves, dinosaurs, robots... anything fits in this collection of chimeras that have inhabited the screens since the beginnings of the seventh art. 'King Kong', 'Avatar', 'Star Wars' or 'The Lord of the Rings' are some of the films inside which they let us investigate how their creatures were created. Master of the special effects like Chris Wallas or Phil Tippett talk about the art of creating monsters, alongside filmmakers like Joe Dante, John Landis or Guillermo Del Toro.
