Les Cowboys

Thomas Bidegain transpose the film of John Ford's 'The Searchers' to French territory in a remake that sets the mid-50s story in a modern era in which the enemy is the Islam instead of the Comanches. Alain (Francois Damiens) is a European cowboy who likes to play country songs in front of an audience that admires this typically American genre. One evening, just after singing 'Tennessee Waltz' decides to leave the stage to dance with her sixteen year old daughter, unaware that this moment would be the last he could shared with his daughter that disappears without trace at the end of the evening. At first Alain assumed that his little girl has been kidnapped, but a letter that arrives a few days later confirms that her daughter Kelly (Iliana Zabeth) has voluntarily gone to embrace the Muslim culture. Bidegain himself, in collaboration with Noé Debré, writes the script for this drama nominated in the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.
