Chaitanya Tamhane writes and directs this drama that starts with the appearance of the body of a sewerage worker in one of the manholes of Mumbai. What at first looks like a suicide, get the authorities to arrest a 65 years old activist and folk singer under the accusation of playing a song that could have encourage the worker to end his life. The event leads to a trial that extends over several months of which the audience is witness, as the personal lives of the people involved, lawyers and even the judge, are scrutinized out of court. Usha Bane, Vivek Gomber, Geetanjali Kulkarni and Pradeep Joshi among others, star in this film recognized in numerous international festivals.
