Costa Brava, Lebanon

The Badri family escapes from Beirut in the hope of a better life. Away from the big city, the pollution and the capitalist lifestyle, they start a new utopian life in the Lebanese mountains, with a house built by their own hands. However, the government's proposed solution to the accumulation of garbage and pollution is the construction of a new illegal landfill, which unfortunately will be built right next to their new home. The family will have to deal with this new problem that will turn their lives upside down and at the same time bring their internal problems to light. They will have to make the decision to leave or fight the same corruption and pollution they fled the big city for.

Directed by Mounia Akl and written by herself and also by Spanish writer-director Clara Roquet ('Libertad', '10,000 km'). Nadine Labaki ('Caramel') and Saleh Bakri star in this drama alongside Yumna Marwan, Nadia Chancel, Liliane Chacar Khoury and Ceana Restom.

The production companies are Abbout Films (Lebanon), Cinéma Defacto (France), Fox in the Snow (Sweden), Lastor Media (Spain), Snowglobe (Denmark), Barentsfilm (Norway), with Boo Pictures and Participant (USA).

'Costa Brava, Lebanon' has won several awards at the Venice Film Festival, the Toronto Film Festival, the London BFI and the Seville Film Festival.
