Plot
Doctor Coppelius, a cosmetic surgeon, has cast a spell on all the citizens of the city. Franz, who has fallen under the spell, is the beloved of Swan, the protagonist, who will face all the evil that Doctor Coppelius has created. However, Swan will have to complete this feat in record time. The heroine is in danger of becoming a perfect robot woman, in the eyes of the evil doctor, of course.
This film is inspired by the homonymous classical ballet composed by the French composer Léo Delibes in 1870. In a more modern and futuristic version, this work was already transcribed by the German Ted Brandsen in 2008. This adaptation has a record more oriented towards what is today 'Coppelia ' a children's play.
This musical film is aimed at three bands. Steven de Beul, Ben Tesseur and Jeff Tudor direct this colorful hybrid film in many ways. 'Coppelia' mixes: real action with animation; choreography with acting; and a story that the eyes of the older ones has a more complex reading, something imperceptible to the child audience.
Of the three directors that the film has, de Beul and Tesseur have also been in charge of making this new adapted script for the theaters. Michela Deprince, Daniel Camargo and Vito Mazzeo lead the casting along with the animated characters.
