Conversations on Hatred

This psychological thriller narrates in real time the last meeting of the only two characters in the film. An actress comes to visit Debora, a depressive and manipulative woman who was her agent in the past. The problems of the past quickly resurface in the encounter between the two.

The two women confront each other about motherhood, friendship, happiness and how to cope with an illness. The conversations are charged with tension, without leaving behind a certain black humor and violence. The pressure builds between the characters, making the climate increasingly oppressive for them and for the viewer.

This film is intended as a manifesto against the discrimination of toxic people. It takes a stand against the idea that those who are sick through their own fault can be cured if they want to be. It goes against the marketing of the unrealistic sale and consumption of happiness and well-being.

'Conversations on Hatred' s a Spanish-Argentine co-production. The only two characters that appear in the film are played by Cecilia Roth ('All About My Mother', 'Martin Hache') and Maricel Álvarez ('Biutiful, 'To Roma With Love'). The film is an adaptation of the play by Vera Fogwill, who also directs, scripts and produces.
