Plot
Musical documentary about improvised poetry with the most important figures of Spanish-speaking improvisation. The film stars Luna, a young woman who has a special predilection for hip hop culture. One night he meets the Cuban improviser Alexis Díaz Pimienta who introduces him to the world of the troveros of La Alpujarra and the repentists of Cuba. Fascinated by what she teaches, Luna, of Alpujarra and Cuban descent, decides to investigate forms of improvisation completely unknown to her and embark on a journey to discover the trovo that will take her to Cuba to start in freestyle with the oldest oral poetic tradition in history.
Nuria Vargas Rivas, cultural manager and filmmaker from Almería, is directing this project shot between Spain and Cuba. Egoa Films is producing.
The latest European troubadours from La Alpujarra are taking part in this feature, including Barranquito, Sotillo, Juan Morón, Manuel de la Magaña, El panadero, José Antonio Martín, Paco Peret, Miguel Castilla, Paco Megías and Ramón Antequera; the best repentants in Cuba such as Tomasita Quiala, Luis Paz Esquivel 'Papillo', Raul Herrera, Ernesto Ramíe Orismay Hernández, Roberto Silva and the Grupo Mapeyé de Puert io; and the famous freestyle world champions Chuty, Invert and Skone.
