Commitment Hasan

Hasan, a man who lives from his father's fruit orchard, tries to get rid of a power pole that they plan to put in the middle of his garden. At the same time that he tries to solve the current problem, Hasan will reflect on his past in his preparation for pilgrimage the Mecca.

This emotional Turkish drama was selected to represent Turkey in the "Best International Film" category at the 94th Academy Awards. Semih Kaplanoglu is the director and screenwriter of the film, while Umut Karadag, Filiz Bozok, Mahir Gübiray, Hakan Altiner, Kazim Sinan Demirer, and Bedir Bedir star.

It was nominated at the Turkish Film Critics Association Awards in the categories "Best Film", "Best Director", "Best Cinematography", "Best Editing" and "Best Art Direction" and winner in the categories "Best Film", "Best Screenplay" and "Best Cinematography" at the Bosphorus Film Festival (Turkey).

Outside its own country, Commitment Hasan won the award in the category of "Best Foreign Film" at the São Paulo International Film Festival and those for "Best International Actor" and "Best International Film" at the China Golden Rooster Awards.
