Close Your Eyes

Julio Arenas, famous Spanish actor, disappears during the shooting of his last movie. They never find his body but the police concludes that he must have suffered and accident by the sea. Many years later the mystery resurfaces when a TV program offers exclusive images of the last scenes the actor took part in, shot by his close friend, director Miguel Gray.

Produced by La Mirada del Adiós AIE, Tandem Films Nautilus Films, Pecado Films and Pampa Films, directed by Víctor Erice and with a script by Erice and Michel Gaztambide. Photography directing is by Valentín Álvarez and original music is by Federico Jusid. It has an stelar cast lead by Goya winners José Coronado ('No Rest for the Wicked') and Manolo Solo ('The Fury of a Patient Man') and also includes Ana Torrent, Petra Martínez, María León, Mario Pardo, Helena Miquel and Josep Maria Pou.

This is the first feature long film directed by Víctor Erice since 1992 with the film 'Dream of Light'. Since then he had directed a few short films and segments of movies and now he dives again in the feature film, format with which he's won prizes at the Cannes Film Festival, San Sebastian, Chicago or São Paulo Festival with the films 'Los desafíos' and 'The Spirit of the Beehive'. Michel Gaztambide has been a screenwriter for films like 'No Rest for the Wicked' and 'Cows'.
