Plot
This 2022 film by Mariano Llinás raises a central question based on its title: Is it or is it not a documentary about the Argentine architect Clorindo Testa? Or is his focus diverted to other topics?
Well, it turns out that it has nothing to do with Testa's life, highly regarded in 20th century Latin America as a representative of brutalist architecture, nor does it follow the format of a biographical documentary. The story revolves around a book that the director's father, Julio Llinás, wrote about the artist.
With a duration of 100 minutes, the direction was in charge of Mariano Llinás, while the camera was operated by Agustín Mendilaharzu, Miguel de Zuviría and Tomás Guiñazú, who also assisted in the direction. Laura Citarella served as executive producer, editing was carried out by Miguel de Zuviría, and the sound was supervised by Leonardo Cardemil, with post-production by Valeria Fernández and Gabriel Real. The music was composed by Gabriel Chwojnik.
It won the award for Best Feature Film at the 24th edition of the BAFICI, competing in the Argentine category. In addition, it participated in various festivals, including the 60th Gijón/Xixón International Film Festival, in the Albar section, as well as the D'A Film Festival Barcelona 2023 and Jeonju 2023, this last within the World Cinema category.
