Cliff Walkers

'Cliff Walkers' is the new film by Zhang Yimou, known for works like 'Hero', 'The Great Wall' or 'House of Flying Daggers'. This director is part of the so-called 'Fifth generation of Chinese cinema', a group of filmmakers who began their film career after the Cultural Revolution in China, in the late 1970s. The film takes place in China, during the 1930s, in the puppet state of Manchukuo. 'Cliff Walkers' tells the story of four Communist Party special agents who return to China after receiving military training in the Soviet Union. Returning to their country, the four embark on a secret mission, but are betrayed by a traitor. Because of this traitor, the spies are under threat from the beginning and beginning of their mission. This group of special agents will be tested on the snowy cliffs of Manchukuo, pushed to their limits by the situation and circumstances they will have to endure.

'Cliff Walkers' stars Yu Hewei, Zhang Yi, Qin Hailu and Liu Haocun, who play the four special agents of the Communist Party. Along with them, Zhu Yawen, Li Naiwen, Ni Dahong, Yu Ailei and Fei Fan, among others, complete the cast. 'Cliff Walkers', also known as 'Impasse', participated in the official competition section of Sitges Festival in 2022.
