Plot
'Claret' is a film which is based on real events and tells part of the life of Antonio Maria Claret, an important priest known as Father Claret who was the founder of the orders 'Missionaries Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary 'and of the' Congregation of the Religious of Mary Immaculate Claretian Missionaries'. The film starts with an event discovered at the year 1930 by the writer and intellectual Azorín, who suddenly realizes that the life and work of the Spanish Archbishop Antonio María Claret had been savagely adulterated. This deception had been going on for almost sixty years. This research process that is carried out involves a journey through the history of this royal character, leading us into his thoughts, actions and revealing the real events that made Claret go from being archbishop of Cuba to becoming Queen Isabel II's private confessor. The film will reveal to us who the real Claret really was, a historical figure of great relevance in Spanish History.
The film is written and directed by Pablo Moreno. The cast features Carlos Cañas ('Historias Lamentables'), Antonio Reyes ('Gran Hotel'), Assumpta Serna ('Tierra de lobos') , Scott Cleverdon ('El mundo es suyo') and Alba Redondo, who plays the role of Queen Elizabeth II.
