City Hunter

'City Hunter' is an action-comedy film directed by Yuichi Sato for the streaming platform Netflix. It is one of the multiple adaptations of the manga of the same name published by Tsukasa Hojo between 1985 and 1991.

The overall plot of the franchise follows the adventures of Ryo Saeba, a calm and witty young detective who works to rid Tokyo of crime, but who is also obsessed with women. He does this alongside his partner Hideyuki Makimura when people notify him by writing "XYZ" on a bulletin board at Shinjuku station. When Hideyuki is murdered, Ryo must take care of his younger sister, Kaori, with whom he will start to have a romantic relationship.

In this live-action version, Ryohei Suzuki plays Ryo Saeba, Misato Morita is Kaori Makimura, and Masanobu Ando portrays Hideyuki Makimura. The streaming platform will premiere the project worldwide on April 25.
