Call Jane

'Call Jane' takes us back to 1968, specifically to the American city of Chicago, at a particularly critical moment for the country and, above all, for women and their rights.

Joy is an ordinary housewife, living with her husband and daughter in the most absolute normality, until one day her life takes a 180º turn: Joy has become pregnant without wanting it and now her life is in immense risk. since her health would not bear to father another baby. Prey to fear and rejection by her friends and acquaintances, Joy seeks help in the most hidden corners of the city, finding a secret organization run by Virginia, who with the means at her disposal will try to perform an abortion that could save her life or snatch it away

'Call Jane' is a story based on true events but not entirely. Elizabeth Banks, known for titles 'The Hunger Games' or 'Pitch Perfect', stars in this film playing Joy. Another superstar who is also in the cast of 'We are all Jane' is Sigourney Weaver who plays Virginia, the leader of the clandestine association, in her first role after her brilliant participation in 'Avatar: The Way of Water'. Chris Messina ('The Boogeyman'), Kate Mara ('Chappaquiddick'), Wunmi Mosaku ('Alice, Darling') and Cory Michael Smith ('Fist Man') also they are part of the stellar cast of the debut on the big screen of the American director Phyllis Nagy.
