'Caída libre' is an emotional thriller directed by Laura Jou and starring Bele?n Rueda, with an exclusive release date in theaters for May 17, 2024. The film, produced by Juan Antonio Bayona together with Bele?n Atienza, Oriol Maymo? and Sandra Hermida, features Rueda as a rhythmic gymnastics coach named Marisol whose personal life falls apart after the revelation that her husband Octavio is leaving her for a younger, pregnant woman.

In her journey to recover her marriage we will see how the elite, methodical and controlling athlete, who has built an image to achieve power and status, falls apart now that she faces a catharsis that leads her to rethink his life.

The cast also includes Ilay Kurelovic, Maria Netavrovana, Irene Escolar, Manuela Velle?s and Brays Efe. Jou, known for her experience directing actors, makes her feature film debut with this thriller that explores the emotional devastation and identity crisis of a 58-year-old woman after an abrupt separation, featuring from Universal Pictures International Spain and the support of RTVE and Movistar Plus+.

Laura Jou's biography reveals her career as an actress and her transition to directing, including work as a coach with renowned directors. Her directorial debut in short films was well received, and her first feature film, 'La vida sense la Sara Amat', received praise and awards.
