Brief Encounter

Director David Lean known for films such as 'Lawrence of Arabia', 'The Bridge on the River Kwai' and 'Doctor Zhivago', directs this romantic drama based on a play of the versatile Noël Peirce Coward. The story tells the behind the 'Brief Encounter' of a doctor (Trevor Howard) with a married woman that he meets on a train station. Celia Johnson plays the better half of the doctor, in this story of love so powerful that even his secondary characters stole hearts. Like the ones of the director Billy Wilder and screenwriter IAL Diamond who were inspired by a friend who helps the couple meet in secret to create the plot of his famous film 'The Apartment'.

In 'Brief Encounter' also stars Stanley Holloway and Joyce Carey.
