Plot
The constancy and permanence in your work usually bear fruit, although sometimes this dogma is not strictly sure. Brian and his inventions know well what this feeling is, his creations always arrive at the same place, the garbage can. The director of this hilarious comedy is Jim Archer. Archer introduces us to the character of Brian, a peculiar and lonely inventor who was never the type of person who had a lot of friends. Brian has one of the jobs dreamed by many, devising gadgets to solve some of the problems that life throws at us to make it much easier and comfortable. However, Brian proposed to solve a drama that many people face in their day to day, loneliness.
The garage is the cradle of all his inventions, here Brian builds a robot that he calls Charles. The seven-foot-tall giant, with the body of a washing machine and the head of a mannequin, turns out to be Brian's only experiment that to everyone's surprise, including himself, works correctly. As time goes by, Charles is forging his own personality and therefore creating his own personal challenges and goals. The cyborg's expectations are confronted with the interests of his creator, who is not willing for his invention to cross the borders of his home and his life.
Charles gets the goal for which he was created. Brian achieves the security and even makes some friends, which will later become essential for him with people from the town. However, everything goes wrong when Charles disappears one day, will he take with him all the self-confidence that the inventor had gained?
David Earl and Chris Hayward will be in charge of impersonating Brian and Charles, respectively. In addition, the role of Earl and Hayward does not stop there, they have also been in charge of writing this comedy suitable for all. Another of the key roles is Hazel, one of those special friendships that Brian makes, played by Louise Brealey ('Containment').
